Tara iti is working to achieve nationally significant conservation gains within a multi-use landscape.
By operating as an Ecological Sanctuary, Tara iti plans to protect and enhance the sites indigenous flora, fauna and ecosystems in a manner which encourages and allows for the recolonisation and reintroduction of species that have been lost to the area.
This is being achieved through predator control, biodiversity monitoring, research, education, advocacy and community engagement.
