We attended the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust’s roadshow for the fight against the spread of Caulerpa Brachypus, an invasive seaweed.

It was a great chance to get up to speed on the spread of Caulerpa, and speed is a key action for this fast-spreading invasive plant. Caulerpa grows and changes the environment in which it lives by carpeting everything in its path, reducing the habitat for fish, and in turn their population reduces having far reaching impacts in the ecosystem. We also had the pleasure of meeting Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust CEO Nicola Macdonald.
